Solar Power
In recent years there have been major advances in solar power technology - allowing you to add significant charging capability to your system, reducing your reliance on engine alternator charging.
At HMB Electrical we are experts at installing photovoltaic solar panels.
We specialise in high efficiency, flexible solar panels, and we match these with MPPT solar regulators to provide extremely efficient energy generation from the sun. (Flexible panels are also look better at than hunky rigid panels!)
As a rule, small panels can maintain battery charge while you’re unplugged from shore power. While larger panels can produce enough energy to power appliances, like an inverter used for producing household-type AC power. Regardless of your requirements, we can create a system that works for you.
Your shore power system allows you to bring AC electricity onboard from a source on the dock. You can run all sorts of useful appliances and tools on board when you’re in a marina. One of the most common devices is a battery charger to keep your batteries topped up. Others include kitchen appliances, power tools, and entertainment products like TVs. Also, remember that you’ll need an EWOF (Electrical Warrant of Fitness) to connect your vessel to shore power - which is another service HMB Marine Electrical can offer.
